The Second Amendment (Amendment II) to the United States Constitution protects the right of individuals to keep and bear arms. There are about 393 million privately owned firearms in the US as of 2022 – or in other words, 120 guns for every 100 Americans! The United States boasts more guns per citizen than any other nation in the world.

A collectible is an object suitable for a collection, such as a work of fine art, an antique or a rare item, but also includes a wide variety of items collected as a hobby, for display or as an investment whose value may appreciate. Vintage toys, antique firearms, old books, unique historical memorabilia and coins all make the cut, but are just a sliver of what can be considered collectible by those who collect. Scarcity, age and condition are definitely determining factors in the desirability and value of such commodities, but social popularity and perceived prestige can also influence the appeal. A pair of Yeezy Red October sneakers is certainly extravagant at $7,500, but to the affluent collector of footwear, they might be worth the price.
